Rideout’s has on-site boat rentals of 16′ aluminum boats; mostly late model Lund’s. Engine choices range from Honda 9.9 hp & Honda 15 hp 4-strokes with the Honda’s having electric start for your convenience. See rates tab for boat rental rates.
If you rent a boat from Rideout’s you will receive detailed information about the lake, detailed water safety instructions, and receive a complementary lake map.
Also, if requested, you will be given information about our fishing in a “mini seminar” provided in our recreation room. Information provided will include tackle to use in different seasons and under different conditions…and the tackle discussed will, for the most part, be available for purchase in our little tackle shop. You will have the basics to fish our lake by the completion of the discussion.
As many of our guests have returned year after year, they are mostly competent boaters and fishermen that don’t often use/need fishing guide services. Like these guests, we can provide you with the information necessary to safely and competently fish East Grand Lake on your own in one of our rental boats! However if a guide is desired for all or part of your stay, we do have access to some of the very best guides in the state of Maine…so there is no problem there!
If you rent a boat on the American plan each morning your boat will be gassed, bailed and dry cushions supplied.
Your boat rental will be clean when you receive it and completely equipped with all necessary equipment including life vests, boat seats, dry boat cushions, an anchor, fishing net, boat paddle, and gasoline. You can use your boat from sunrise to sunset and then park it on our secure dock (not drag it up on the shore).
Finally it should be emphasized that all our boats are 16 feet long which are considerably longer and wider than typical rental 14 foot boats…think of a large vs medium pizza! That extra width and length provide a much smoother, more comfortable and safer experience!
We also have a canoe and many kayaks available for daily use free of charge to Rideouts registered guests.
